Rooted In The Good Stuff

Scripture: "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up."Galatians 6:9

The Reality Check:

Whether you are trying to learn a new skill, a new job or new responsibilities, we all hit the wall of feeling weary.

Doing the right thing, like being kind when someone is rude, working hard when no one is watching, or when you're exhausted doesn't always pay off immediately. In a world of instant gratification, we want the "harvest" right now and when it doesn't show up, we want to quit.

The Agriculture of Faith:

Paul uses farming language here for a reason. You don't plant a seed in the dirt and expect a tree full of fruit by tomorrow. There is a long, quiet season where it looks like nothing is happening.

But beneath the surface, roots are growing.

God promises a harvest. It’s a guarantee. The only condition is we cannot give up. Every choice to do good, and to love others is a seed planted in the ground.

Reflection:

Take a quick moment to check your heart right now.

  • Where do you feel the most weary? Is it a daily routine, or a goal that feels impossible?
  • Instead of focusing on how tired you are of waiting, focus on the One who is tending the field. You don't have to produce the harvest; you just have to stay faithful to planting it.

Closing Prayer: Lord, when I am tired and tempted to quit, give me the strength to take just one more step. Help me trust that You are working in the waiting, and that Your timing is perfect. Amen.
